Wedding Vibes at the Lake Geneva Bungalow
Planning a wedding is a lot. Like a LOT. There are so many decisions to make, things to strategically figure out. After over a year of planning our own wedding, many days were left with our brains spinning with which color napkin looked best and what flavor of cake to pick. I mean real serious life decisions, right? No but really, you want the day to be perfect. As perfect as it can be. I get it!
When we got married in 2013 one of our biggest hassles was trying to figure out how to fit 8 bridesmaids, 4 makeup/hair stylists & 8 groomsmen into a space that wasn’t anywhere near each other, (no way was Nick going to see me until it was game time, it was a surprise!) but close enough for our photographer to take photos of both of us getting ready. Our apartment in Chicago was a measly 400 square feet so there was no way even just the ladies were going to fit. We ended up splurging in a Presidential Suite at the Drake Hotel to have enough space for the ladies to get ready. Add parking in the heart of the city for ourselves and all of our makeup artists/hairstylists, another room for the boys to get ready, an accidental bottle of fancy champagne opened and a crazy rush to get checked out in time (because we couldn’t afford to stay in these rooms 2 nights), it was quite expensive & stressful. Everything worked out great looking back but if Airbnb was around back then I would definitely have made different choices! We needed more space, less stress. We made it work but it was definitely a stretch on our budget and sanity.
When we started renovating our duplex in Lake Geneva, we envisioned & dreamt about brides using our space to get ready for their best day ever. How lovely it would be to have others make their forever memories in our home. To provide the space, the stress free zone & a gathering place for anyone and everyone who needed to take part in the day.
Fast forward to last summer & our dreams came true!
Amanda was our first bride to use our Lake Geneva bungalow to have her and her bridesmaids get ready for her best day ever. She rented out both of our units, to have ample space for makeup artists & hair stylists! She had full access to our whole property, including 2 separate, private sleeping spaces & our yard for multiple nights! She had her family sleep in our downstairs unit and her and her new hubby slept in the private upstairs suite! Her wedding venue was at The Riveiera, downtown Lake Geneva, which is just a short, 3 block walk away. The wedding photos and video are everything.
