Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we do & you’re absolutely welcome to book through Airbnb if you’d like (here’s the Lake Geneva Boho Bungalow Upstairs unit, Downstairs unit, and the Door County Retro Log Cabin). However, you’ll save money on extra fees if you book direct through our website. Head here to book your stay!

  • Absolutely! It’s a great idea to book both the upstairs and downstairs private units if you’re traveling with another family, couple, grandparents, wedding parties or a larger group who would appreciate their own space while still being able to all gather and explore together! Head here to book the entire home.

  • We aim to provide everything you might possibly need on your vacation, from beach and picnic supplies to kitchen utensils and coffee and tea. Every unit also has a washer & dryer, Smart TV, and internet, and things like toilet paper, shampoo, soap, linens, and cooking basics are all covered. We even have baby supplies like a pack-n-play crib, high chair, umbrella stroller, and kids games and toys for those traveling with littles.

  • 100% yes! We often travel with our two children & know the hassle of trying to remember all of their belongings and gear… let alone things to occupy them like toys and games! For that reason, we supply an air mattress, pack-n-play crib, high chair, stroller, and games/toys in every unit for anyone traveling with kids.

  • We love furry friends and they are welcome at every unit for a small fee except for the Lake Geneva Boho Bungalow - Upstairs unit (to keep noise from clicky-clacky paws at a minimum)!

  • Truth be told, you can’t go wrong visiting Lake Geneva or Door County any time of year! Of course, you’ll get to take most advantage of outside activities like beach days and bike rides during the warmer months, but you can’t beat the fall leaves and sparkly snow in the fall and winter months! If you want to visit during a slower, less touristy time of year, winter is a great time to get away. Ice Castles and skiing in Lake Geneva are prime attractions in the winter, as is snowmobiling & ice fishing in Door County. There are tons of great restaurants, breweries/bars, museums, coffee shops, and other indoor activities to do year-round.

  • Absolutely! We have many guests reach out about particular decor items, and it’s the biggest compliment! We’ve carefully selected each piece of decor to be stylish, comfortable, memorable, and personality-filled in our rental properties. Some are thrifted, some are antiques, and some things are new. We’re more than happy to share details about anything you might want information about—just email hello@takemebackretreats.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

On that note, I also help other Airbnb hosts intentionally design their spaces with custom mood boards, linked with items to fit their style and budget. If you’re interested in my styling services, please reach out to hello@takemebackretreats.com for more information!
